Boat: 2004 Regal Commodore 3560 / 3760 (38′ LOA)

Swim Platform Size:  120″ wide side-to-side x 36″ deep (33″ usable front-to-back depth)

Dinghy: Initially a Zodiac tiller-steer, then upgraded to bigger / heavier AB Mares 10 VSX (10’6″ LOA, 5’7″ overall beam)

The 2004 Regal Commodore 3560 (later changed to 3760 model) has a swim platform that is 36″ deep (front-to-back) overall to the rear-most point, however only 33″ of usable space on the top (from the boat’s transom to the rear lip of the swim platform).  Thus, this customer opted for our dinghy davit extensions to allow more room to walk along the swim platform in front of the dinghy.

As the CAD shows, the davit mounts were installed so the center of the davit mounts is located 19.5″ from the center of the platform.  The davits were installed towards the port side of the Regal since the transom walk-through in on the starboard side.  Anywhere near this location would be a good place to install our davits, as there are no obstructions underneath the platform when mounting the 2M Marine dinghy davits in this location.

There is a 1/2″ tall raised lip around the perimeter of this swim platform, so you would need two of our thickest mounting plate shims for each mounting plate for this installation (if you purchase our davit extension this means you’d need 4 mounting plates and 8 shims).

If you don’t have this exact same boat, you can still learn a lot from this installation, by confirming the year of your Regal Commodore is similar to this 2004 Regal 3560 / 3760.
